MADE FORGIRLS ONLY
The first advanced impact protection built specifically for female athletes in contact sport.
THIS IS A BREAST INJURY
Chest, breast, and rib injuries from contact sports are real and until now, girls have played without gear built for their bodies. A ball, elbow, or tackle to the chest can cause deep tissue bruising, rib injury, and breast trauma because standard gear was never designed for female anatomy. Trust us? We did the research.
- ✓Up to 62% of female athletes suffer a contact breast injury
- ✓Nearly 1 in 2 athletes say it affects their performance
- ✓Only 3% wear any additional protection. We're built to change that
Who are you protecting?
Two vests. Both patented, both Deakin tested. The only question is who is wearing it.
ADULT CHEST PROTECTOR
Built for athletes who play hard and happen to have breasts, the Zena Adult Chest Protector Vest is contoured to fit the female chest and rib area, not just shrunk down from a men's design. Front-zip for a fast, fuss-free fit. Slim enough to disappear under your jersey, so nobody sees it coming, except the next hit.
YOUTH CHEST PROTECTOR
The Youth Chest Protector Top is sized and shaped specifically for young athletes who don't have breasts yet. Flat-chested, developing bodies need a different fit, this is built to cover the sternum and chest area from all impact. Lightweight enough that she forgets she's wearing it, until the hit she doesn't feel.
A ball to the chest has to go somewhere.
Without protection, the force of an impact stays where it lands. Z-Tech foam takes that force and spreads it across the whole panel. Use the toggle and watch where the energy goes.

Open cell, not closed cell.
Traditional guards use closed-cell foam. It is a wall. It stops the ball, but it is hot, stiff, and it sits on top of a body it was never shaped for. Z-Tech is open-cell: air moves through it, it bends with you, and it turns a single point of force into a wide, shallow one.

Your questions, answered
Does my daughter actually need one?
If she plays a contact sport, she is taking hits to the chest. Most girls never mention it, they simply start avoiding contests. A vest is not about a single dramatic injury, it is about her not learning to play smaller.
Which vest do I need, Adult or Youth?
The Youth Chest Protector Top is for ages 7 to 13, with a full mesh back so it stretches across sizes. The Adult Chest Protector Vest fits female athletes aged 14 and over, XS through XXL. If she is in the youth age range but has a fuller bust or is going through breast development, size into the adult vest.
What size do I need?
Measure your underbust, not your chest. If you wear a small in a crop top, you are a small in a Zena vest. If you are larger than a C cup, size up. And if you get it wrong, you have 30 days to send it back and free exchanges.
Is it bulky? Will people see it?
No. The whole vest weighs 5.6 oz, about the same as a phone. It is contoured to the body and designed to be discreet under a jersey.
How do you know it absorbs up to 75% of impact?
Four years of development and sports science impact testing with Deakin University and the Centre for Sports Research in Australia. Drop testing showed absorption of up to 75% of force from impact.
What exactly does it cover?
The panel covers the sternum, breast and rib area. That is the patent.
Which sports is it for?
Soccer, lacrosse, rugby, softball, flag football, AFL, basketball, and any other contact sport. One vest covers every sport she plays.
Does it support my breasts as well as protect them?
The vest protects you from impact, it does not provide bust support. Wear it over a sports bra or crop top.
How do I wash it?
Cold hand wash is best. If that is not realistic, it machine washes on a gentle cold cycle inside the wash bag that comes with every vest.
